Experience
The Vault Catering Company operates from a 15,000 square foot facility in the heart of downtown Tacoma. We've been in business for over ten years and have catered hundreds of wedding receptions, corporate and special events of all sizes and kinds. We are a leading caterer in the South Puget Sound and are a proud member of The National Association of Catering Executives (NACE). Marnie Jackson
Owner/Operator
Marnie realized her passion for event planning during her tenure at US West Cellular, as a Major Account Sales Executive. She received numerous company-wide awards for her outstanding service and sales achievements, including "National Sales Person of the Year for 1988" and multiple regional and district-wide titles. Prior to her employment with US West Cellular, Marnie worked in the food and beverage industry since the mid-1980's.

When Marnie felt the overwhelming desire to give back to her hometown community, she decided to join the entrepreneur partnership of Lance Hungerford and John Dimmer.
Together, they opened The Vault Restaurant in February 1997. It is Marnie's innovative thinking and enthusiasm for party and event planning that helped create The Vault Catering and Event Planning Division. Her focus is solely on event design, coordination, conceptualization and execution. She has grown The Vault to be a leading catering company in the Puget Sound. In 2003, Marnie was also nominated to the prestigious group of business women, known as "The Women of Influence."
Marnie manages over 40 part- and full-time employees in The Vault's home office in Tacoma, Washington.
Randy Spears
General Manager - Culinary Services
Randy came to The Vault from San Francisco, where he participated in event production management for a prominent Bay Area event company. He was an integral part of a number of events including, The Elizabeth Taylor Fashion Show for AIDS Benefit. He then opened a series of start-up restaurants for a major coffee company.
In 1998, Randy and his wife, Kerry, decided they wanted to start a family and move back to their roots in the Tacoma area and Randy joined The Vault team.
Some of Randy's accomplishments include:
- Goodwill Games Beverage Coordinator (4000+ guests)
- Studied under a variety of top culinary professionals in Seattle
- Grill-master competitor and award winner -(2nd place finish) in "lamb, "chicken" and "vegetable" categories (2002 & 2003 Season Competitions)
